The photo of the Duke of Sussex covering his face from paparazzi in the new trailer of ‘Harry & Meghan’ Netflix documentary was actually taken while he was still dating Chelsy Davy.
The minute-long teaser promoting the series also shows unseen pictures from the Sussexes’ early relationship, including images from Meghan and Harry’s childhood.
But royal fans were quick to note that a photo of Harry dressed in a jacket and baseball cap trying to avoid photographers was taken in September 2007.
Harry and Chelsy, who met while attending schools in London, dated for six years after the prince traveled to Zimbabwe, where Chelsy’s millionaire dad runs and owns a game reserve.
The photo in the trailer was taken moments after Harry, who was 22 at that time, met Chelsy at Heathrow Airport after her 11-hour flight from Johannesburg.
While the prince covers his face in an attempt to stop the paparazzi from capturing their reunion, his ex-girlfriend keeps his eyes lowered as she pulls her suitcase.
Instead of showing the entire photo of the Duke, Netflix products have decided to crop Chelsy out of the frame.
After seeing the original image, body language expert Jesus Enrique Rosas took to Twitter and said: “You just can’t make this s*** up.
“For Harry and MEGHAN’s Netflix teaser they included a cropped picture of Harry… with Chelsy Davy! LMAO WHAT IS THIS!”
Referring to another photo of paparazzi in the teaser that was actually taken from Harry Potter premiere in 2011 – five years before they met – one social media user said: “At least they got the right Harry this time…”
According to reports, no members of the royal family attended the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two in central London.
The photo is shown as the Duke of Sussex gravely says: “I had to do everything I could to protect my family.”
