The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to snub a Christmas invitation from King Charles III after more details emerged from his bombshell book, sources claimed.
According to the sources, relations are already at ‘near rock bottom’ and that Prince Harry will ignore the royal Christmas invite from his father before the global release of his memoir.
Titled ‘Spare’ in reference to him growing up in the shadow of his older brother Prince William – the heir to the throne – the book has reportedly left the Royal Family shocked as they were not informed about it beforehand.
An insider said the family were ‘completely caught by surprise’ with the title of Harry’s memoir and details of how the Duke would give ‘raw, unflinching honesty.’
Harry also didn’t shy away from sharing sensitive topics of his life, including the moment he and his brother were told to stand behind their mother Princess Diana’s coffin.
“This book could spell the end for any relationship Harry wants to have with his family, it’s desperately sad,” a source said.
“Everyone is bracing themselves for yet another fraught and frantic period at the mercy of the Sussexes.”
Sources said it was hoped there would be a ‘thawing of relations’ between the Sussexes and the Royal family after the death of the beloved Queen.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a low-key return to the UK during the period of mourning. But insiders claimed that the couple have ‘no plans’ to join the royals again, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, for their first Christmas without the Queen.
It is understood that there has been little contact between the couple and the Royal Family since they flew back to the US.
But it was previously reported that Harry talked to the King about the possibility of titles of prince and princess for his children Archie and Lilibet.
