A husband has been praised online after he revealed that he doesn’t ‘help’ his wife with household chores.
But his reasons are actually sweet and people were quick to agree with him!
UPS driver J.R. Minton from Texas has gone viral on social media after sharing a video in which he urged men to change their views on domestic responsibilities.
In a TikTok video that has gained more than 6 million views, Minton revealed that he doesn’t ‘help’ his wife with chores.
“I don’t help my wife cook. I don’t help her clean, do laundry, take care of the kids – none of that,” he said in his video.
Viewers were ready to start a war but after he revealed why, people were quick to offer him praise.
“Because I do what I am supposed to do as a father and a husband. I cook. I clean. I do the laundry. I take care of the kids. I can’t help my wife do those things because they are my job, too.”
He then encouraged other husbands to change their views on domestic responsibilities and their relationship with their wives.
“Change the way you speak, change the way you think, and grow the f*** up and be a man,” he added.
TikTok users flocked to the comments section to praise Minton, with one person saying: “Had to tell my husband stop saying, ‘…for your mother,’ to the kids. Empty the dishwasher FOR ME? No. Those are everybody’s dishes.”
Another said: “You are a REAL man, husband and father. You sir are the example to follow.”
