People have been expressing their shock on social media after learning Will Smith’s real name.
Jada Pinkett-Smith recently took to Instagram to wish her husband a happy birthday. Sharing a black-and-white family photo of them with Will’s son Trey, she wrote:
“Willard I am so glad you were born on this day. Without you, I would not have experienced the greatest joy of my life… the love of our family.”
The Red Table Talk host also expressed her gratitude for the “wells of laughter along the trails of tears we’ve shared.”
She also thanked the Aladdin star for “helping me learn to embrace it all … with a smile.”
“Here’s to 100+ more birthdays full of growth, acceptance and joy,” she added.
Despite Jada’s lengthy caption, what caught the attention of her followers was her husband’s name – Willard.
The actor’s real name is Willard Carroll Smith II.
Fans were shocked by the discovery and they flocked to the comments section, with one person writing: “Wdym (what do you mean) ‘Willard?’. I thought it (was) WILLIAM????”
Another commented: “I was today years old when I found out his first name is ‘Willard’ not ‘William.’”
A third said: “Who is Willard? Did they have another kid?”
Someone else added: “Willard just threw me all the way off.”
This comes after the Prince Of Bel Air star shared a heartwarming tribute for Jada’s birthday last month.
“Happy Birthday, Mamita! I’ve been to 28 of your birthday parties. (I don’t know if we’re ever gonna top the one that Rakim performed at… but here’s to a Lifetime of trying!) #WalkingEachOtherHome,” he wrote.
