Jennifer Lopez, 52, gave an emotional interview with Good Morning America and opened up about her romance with Ben Affleck, saying they plan to ‘build a family’ together.
The singer, who first started dating the actor in 2002 but broke up and ended their first engagement, was glowing and could not take the smile off her face as she shared details about her relationship with her fiancé.
“This is the best time of my life,” she said. “I love my career but nothing is more fulfilling to me than being able to build a family with someone I love deeply and who is just as dedicated to family and to each other as we can be.”
J.Lo also said that she “loves the idea of the future and what (she and Affleck) can create,” adding that she “really wants to savor the moment and stay real present in it as much as she can.
Lopez also became emotional when she announced a new $14 billion business loan initiative aimed at low-income Latina women who want to launch new businesses.
“It’s important to me,” she said of the initiative. “When you get a little bit older, you understand the meaning behind things and you’ve seen enough… you’ve had your own struggle, you’ve seen enough injustices.”
The singer was in tears as she went on: “I just feel like this country needs more love and positivity and people who want to do good things and are not fighting against each other and are just giving each other a hand up. That’s important to me.
“Honestly I’m hoping to kind of change the fabric of America, especially for Latina women.”
J.Lo has two children with her ex-husband Marc Anthony while Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
