The 52-year-old actor was rushed to a hospital while trying to stop his snowplow from hitting his nephew while they were clearing the roads around his Nevada home.

The sheriff’s office said at that time: “When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully (snowplow) to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over. The Pistenbully rolled over him and continued down the road.”

Renner revealed at that time that he had more than 30 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a punctured liver.

In a video from his first interview since the accident, the star revealed that he thought he was going to die and that he was ‘grateful’ his nephew was there to save him.

“If I was there on my own, it would have been a horrible way to die,” he told ABC’s Diane Sawyer. “And surely I would have. Surely.”

“But I wasn’t alone, it was my nephew, sweet Alex and the rest of the cavalry came,” Renner went on. Thinking he was already dying, he quickly wrote down notes on his phone.

“So I’m writing down notes on my phone, and last words to my family,” he said in tears.

In another snippet of his interview, the actor said he was “awake through all of it,” adding that he would do it again to save his nephew.

“I would do it again. It was coming right at my nephew. I would do it again,” he added.
