Jodie Turner-Smith has filed for divorce from her husband, Joshua Jackson, after only four years of marriage, TMZ reported.
The former couple first met at Usher’s birthday party in 2018. Turner-Smith said that it was love at first sight and their sweet interaction turned into marriage.
They tied the knot in 2019 and welcomed their first child in April 2020.
But the news outlet reported that the Queen & Slim star submitted documents to end her marriage with the Fatal Attraction actor, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for their divorce.
The 37-year-old has requested joint custody of their daughter and has reportedly removed the option of spousal support for both parties.
The news has shocked fans as the former couple seemed cozy and in a good relationship during J Crew’s 40th anniversary celebrations last month.
Both Jackson and Turner-Smith shared photos from the party on their Instagram pages.
The former couple were together on September 9 to celebrate her 37th birthday in NYC. They were also seen at New York Fashion Week.
Also in September, Turner-Smith went alone to Albie’s Awards hosted by George Clooney.
In a 2021 interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actress revealed: “When I first met my husband, we had a one-night stand. We’re in a two, three-year one-night stand now.”
In April 2021, Turner-Smith told PEOPLE how lucky they were to have found each other.
“I think it’s really beautiful to be with someone who is so supportive and so loving,” she said at that time.
“We’re so similar in so many ways. We’re like mirrors for each other. And I just really love that human being.”
