The comedian opened the Golden Globe Awards show with a monologue that included references to the weight-loss drug Ozempic and actor Barry Keoghan.

“Some I wrote, some other people wrote,” the 52-year-old explained.

Koy continued: “Yes, I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You’re kidding me right? Slow down, I wrote some of these and they are the ones you are laughing at.”

As the show went on, the comedian’s performance did not impress everyone and things became awkward when he started talking about Barbie vs Oppenheimer in front of Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and Greta Gerwig.

“Oppenheimer is based on the 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project — and Barbie is about a plastic doll with big b**bies,” he joked before criticizing Gerwig’s movie.

But Koy also expressed his love for Oppenheimer while joking that more backstory was needed.

After his performance, people have since called for Ricky Gervais’ return but the negative remarks quickly reached the host.

Koy appeared on GMA 3: What You Need To Know and said: “I had fun. You know, it was a moment that I’ll always remember. It’s a tough room. It was a hard job, I’m not going to lie… I’d be lying if [I said] it doesn’t hurt.

“I hit a moment there where I was like, ‘Ah.’ Hosting is just a tough gig. Yes, I’m a stand-up comic but that hosting position it’s a different style.

“I kind of went in and did the writer’s thing. We had 10 days to write this monologue. It was a crash course. I feel bad, but I got to still say I loved what I did.”

Speaking about how his joke about Taylor Swift backfired, he said: “It was more on the NFL… I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn’t have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL. But it just didn’t come out that way.”
