The Chiefs have released a new video of Super Bowl locker room celebrations following their big win, with coach Andy Reid telling the team ‘let’s party tonight’.
With his players gathering in a circle before the start of their afterparty at XS Nightclub on The Strip, the 65-year-old lifted the Vince Lombari Trophy and said: “Hey, appreciate you guys. Great job! I mean a great job!”
Before lifting the trophy again, the coach added: “And… let’s party tonight, huh! How about those Chiefs?”
The players then replied: “Chiefs!”
The Chiefs’ win over San Francisco made them the first team to repeat since Brady’s Patriots 19 years ago. They are also discussing about trying to become the first team ever to three-peat!
But Reid warned that it would not be easy as me mentioned new divisional coaching hires.
“We’ve got great competition in the AFC West,” Reid expressed. “These guys are good football coaches. It’s not going to be easy.”
Reid is now even with Washington’s Joe Gibbs and San Francisco’s Bill Walsh. He has shown his impressive ability to adapt his offense around his people but his great success will be linked to Mahomes, who described him as ‘the best coach of all time.’
“I know he didn’t have the trophies (before Kansas City) and I have a lot of respect for some of those great coaches. But the way he’s able to navigate every single team he has, continue to have success no matter where he’s at,” Mahomes said.
“He brings out the best of me because he lets me be me. I think that’s important. He doesn’t try to make me anyone else. I don’t think I’d be the quarterback that I am if I didn’t have Coach Reid being my head coach.”
