Kanye West has left people shocked by her new comments about Taylor Swift as he claimed that he was ‘helpful’ to her career.
Their feud started way back in 2009 when the rapper interrupted Swift’s acceptance for the Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs, saying: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”
Then, Kanye released ‘Famous’ in 2016 with the lyrics: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have s*x / Why? I made that b***h famous.”
The track ignited a feud between Swift, West, and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. It even escalated into legal battles and worsened by a leak video recorded by Kardashian, which claimed that the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker consented to the use of her name in the song.
But West released another song titled ‘Carnival,’ with lyrics that many have deemed derogatory.
The rapper now believes that he is the one who helped Swift rise into stardom.
Taking to Instagram, West wrote: “REMEMBER I WAS ON TAYLOR’S SIDE WHEN SCOOTER BOUGHT HER MASTERS BEHIND HER BACK. SHE AND BEYONCÉ ARE BIG INSPIRATIONS TO ALL MUSICIANS WE ALWAYS SAY HOW BOTH SELL OUT TOURS AND MOVIES.”
The rapper continued: “ALSO, I’M SURE I’VE BEEN FAR MORE HELPFUL TO TAYLOR SWIFT’S CAREER THAN HARMFUL. TO ALL TAYLOR SWIFT FANS I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY UUUM IM NOT YOUR FRIEND EITHER THOUGH LOL.”
He also shut down claims that Swift had him removed from the Super Bowl by explaining that he and his wife, Bianca Censori, just wanted to walk around and enjoy their day.
