Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, ‘could end up paying a high price’ when the Duke of Sussex releases his most anticipated memoir.
Prince Harry’s book Spare is due to be released on January 10 and publishers Penguin Random House promises ‘raw, unflinching honesty’ and ‘revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom.’
While King Charles will receive less criticism, Prince William and Kate will be targeted in the book, sources have claimed.
Royal commentator Daniela Elser said Harry’s book could prove to be a nightmare for his sister-in-law.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, a royal insider said: “Generally, I think the book [will be] worse for them than the Royal Family is expecting.
“Everything is laid bare. Charles comes out of it better than I had expected, but it’s tough on William, in particular, and even Kate gets a bit of a broadside.
“There are these minute details, and a description of the fight between the brothers. I personally can’t see how Harry and William will be able to reconcile after this.”
Elser also explained that the release of Harry’s book would be a ‘particularly hard experience’ for the Princess of Wales.
“For Kate, right now, watching her formerly close brother-in-law on the cusp of yet another offensive, and with not only her husband reportedly in his sights but her too, must be a particularly hard experience, not least because there is nothing they can do,” she went on.
Kensington and Buckingham Palaces have refused to comment on Harry and Meghan’s actions.
“The way things look today, there may well be more discomfort and sadness for William and Kate to come,” Elser added.
One royal fan commented: “How unfair, Harry can bad mouth Kate publicly but if William did so publicly about NUTMEG, Harry would accuse William a rac*st. I hope the book bombs.”
Another wrote: “If William and Kate even wanted to respond I’m sure they wouldn’t know where to begin. So many lies, false accusations and scandalous made up stories. Megan and Harry do not have a real job so the only way for them to make money is to publish and also release on TV disgusting commentary.”
