King Charles will not hesitate to ‘close the door’ on Prince Harry if he criticizes Camilla, the Queen Consort, in his book Spare, a royal expert has claimed.
According to reports, members of the Royal Family are bracing themselves for the publication of the Duke of Sussex’s book next year.
But Royal author Phil Dampier said that while the new monarch will “go great lengths” to keep a good relationship with his son, “there is a limit.”
Speaking to The Express, Mr. Dampier said that if Harry is “too critical of Camilla” or “places too much blame at Charles’ door,” he will pass the “point of no return.”
“King Charles would pretty much forgive Harry for anything – except dragging Camilla through the mud,” he said.
“If Harry’s account of his parents’ divorce is too critical of Camilla, or places too much blame at Charles’s door while painting his mother as a saint, that will be the point of no return.”
Mr. Dampier went on: “At that point what sanctions are on offer? What choice do they have but to say, ‘OK, you’ve crossed a line here and there is no way back. It’s time to go your own way, but not as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.’”
Harry and Meghan’s Netflix teaser was dropped on the second day of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ high-profile trip to the U.S.
In addition to supposedly private photos from their family album, the clip also features a picture of William and Kate at the 2019 Commonwealth Service in Lonon.
“Any hopes that they will put aside their differences for the sake of family unity are disappearing fast,” Mr. Dampier told Express. “With (the Queen) gone, the gloves are off.”
