LeBron James has gone viral online but not for his performances on the court but because of a resurfaced photo of his feet.
The 39-year-old has been getting a lot of attention because of a picture of him on a vacation that was taken more than ten years ago.
In the photo, his toes looked bunched uncomfortably, with his little toe pointing across his foot instead of facing upwards. It seems the demands of the NBA have taken a toll on his body.
Last year, a podiatrist told The Sun that James could be spending up to $7,000 per month to keep his feet in shape.
“For his feet generally, I would say that every month LeBron will be likely spending around $7,000 on podiatric care, orthotics, and custom sneakers,” they said.
“LeBron also has a complicated left foot and would need scalpel treatment to get the calluses removed and prevent ulcerations.
“Now there’s rehabilitation for his right foot on top of that. That’s a huge bill – adding up to $84,000 a year.”
Fans were quick to write posts about James’ feet, with one person commenting: “Maybe the feet are part of the secret to his success.”
Another said: “When you come up poor, And you’re growing as fast as he was sometimes you have to wear the same pair of shoes for a little longer than you supposed to because you don’t have the money to buy a new pair.”
A third added: “If you ever get to see the feet of people who have grown up walking barefoot their entire lives, you will find their feet exactly opposite to James with splayed toes for gripping and thick soles for protection.”
