JUST IN: Lindsay Lohan Says She Was ‘Very Hurt And DISAPPOINTED’ By A Particular Remark In Newly Released Mean Girls, Rep Says

Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan, who portrayed Cady Heron in the original film, was ‘very hurt and disappointed’ by a joke in the new version of the classic movie.

In the newly released remake of Mean Girls, Angourie Rice takes on the role of Cady. But it was rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s joke that deeply affected Lohan.

Megan commented on Cady’s Christmas-themed talent show outfit and said: “Y2k fire cr*tch is back,’ but Lohan did not appreciate the line.

The remark seemed to be a reference to a crude comment that music manager Brandon Davis used to describe the Freaky Friday actress in an old paparazzi video.

Lohan’s publicist confirmed to The Independent that the comment deeply affected the star, who made a brief cameo appearance as the moderator for Cady’s Mathletes competition.

After the movie has been released in theaters, many viewers expressed their disappointment on social media and said that the updated version was not a direct remake of the original film but an adaptation of Tina Fey’s Broadway musical.

Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne directed the new Mean Girls from a script by Fey, who also wrote the original movie.

Marc Weinstock, Paramount’s president of global marketing, explained: “We didn’t want to run out and say it’s a musical because people tend to treat musicals differently. This movie is a broad comedy with music. Yes, it could be considered a musical, but it appeals to a larger audience.”

He also noted that other films like The Color Purple and Wonka do not label themselves as musicals in trailers.
