Machine Gun Kelly has announced that he wants to go by a new name and people are making the same joke about it.
According to Entertainment Tonight, many fans who attended a concert to see the rapper were seen holding up a sign telling him to change his name.
MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker, saw the sign and asked his fans why.
“I have no idea what that sign means,” the Bad Things rapper told the crowd.
His fans then explained that they wanted him to change his name by removing the ‘machine gun’ part.
MGK did not say anything more about the name change but when he appeared at the GQ Men of the Year party, he told photographers to make his name shorter.
While posing for photos on the red carpet, he told them: “Instead of Machine Gun can you just call me Machine from now on? Just Machine.”
To confirm his name change, he took to Instagram and shared photos of himself alongside the caption: “Machine.”
While most fans like the change, others were quick to make fun of it and even suggested other nicknames for the rapper.
One fan suggested: “Nerf Gun Kelly.”
Another wrote: Staple Gun Kelly.”
A third said that the rapper should be called “Nail Gun Kelly.”
Someone else suggested: “Glue Gun Kelly.”
This comes amid his relationship update with his fiancée, Megan Fox. A source recently told Entertainment News that almost two years after they got engaged, the two ‘are doing well.’
“They have had their ups and downs, like any other couple, but right now, things are good,” the source said.
“They are still taking steps to better their relationship and still have the goal of moving ahead with getting married.”
