Madonna, 63, has split from her 28-year-old boyfriend and explained why they found it ‘hard to keep their romance alight’.
It was in 2019 when the singer started dating Ahlamalik Williams, four years after they met on her Rebel Heart tour. During that time, he was one of the tour dancers.
Aside from being a dancer, Ahlamalik is also a songwriter.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Madonna has thrown herself into a busy social life and has been seeing her friends and family after the split.”
The source continued: “She has a packed schedule, working on her upcoming biopic, new music and looking after her family, things have been on and off with Ahlamalik for a while.
“There’s a lot of love but for now they have decided to separate.
“They are still on good terms and there are no hard feelings but they are at different places with their lives, they spent months together on tour and in lockdown, but now he has moved out of her home.”
During their relationship, Madonna – who was married to Guy Ritchie from 2000 to 2008 – helped Ahlamalik land a deal with Stella McCartney. He also tried to launch his own music career with the singer’s help.
The 28-year-old’s father, Drue, previously said that the couple’s relationship will help his son produce his music.
“I believe too, in my heart of hearts, that she will help produce his music once this tour is over,” he told The Sun.
“She’s going to stick with him because of the talent he has.”
Drue even gave his blessing to the couple and told them that he is ‘happy for them.’
