A man with extreme fear of women has revealed he has lived in isolation for fifty-five years to avoid contact with females.
Callixte Nzamwita is a 71-year-old gentleman from Rwanda who has lived for decades in a self-imposed exile as a result of his extreme gynophobia – also known as the fear of women.
Breaking his silence, the man said he barricaded himself inside his house and set up a fence all around it at the age of 16 to make sure no woman ever got close to him.
“The reason I locked myself inside here and have a fence on my house is because I want to make sure that women will not come closer to me,” he explained in a clip shared by Afrimax TV.
Meanwhile, a neighbor spoke out and confirmed that the man lets his community help him by tossing food and supplies over his fence.
“When we try to help him, he doesn’t want us to come closer or talk to him. Instead, we give him things by tossing them into his house,” they revealed.
“He doesn’t let us get close to him, but he still takes what we offer from a distance.”
Despite living in almost complete isolation for the majority of his life, Callixte insisted he was happy with his lifestyle and his decision to ban women from contacting him.
“The way I live is enough for me. I didn’t have any idea of having a woman and I’m okay with that,” he added. “I do not want women around me because they make me really scared.”
