A man has been branded an a**hole after asking the internet if he was in the wrong for smoking next to a pregnant woman.
The guy in question took to Reddit to receive his judgment after he got into an argument with a pregnant woman and her husband at a recent concert somewhere in the States.
As the man revealed, he began smoking marijuana while his favorite band played. Next to him was a lady with a growing baby bump who complained about the smell and kindly asked the man to stop.
Determined to have his way, the man dismissed the woman and her husband and told them they could always leave if they had an issue with his smoking.
While he didn’t see anything wrong with his actions, the man decided to let the internet decide after his own friends blasted him for being rude and inconsiderate to the pregnant woman.
“Yesterday I went out to see a concert. The band I was seeing has a very heavy drug scene associated with it. I was in an assigned seat section and made small talk with the couple next to me while waiting,” he wrote.
“About 10 minutes into the first set I light up a joint, and about 5 minutes after the husband complains to me about his wife being pregnant. I told them both it’s a show. You came here, you can choose to leave. He tried to cause a scene but nothing happened since I just ignored them both and danced.
“I told my roommates this earlier today and they said I was being an a**hole for smoking next to the pregnant lady.”
As expected, the man didn’t receive any sympathy on Reddit as well. Thousands of viewers soon chipped in with their opinions and called out the man for willingly putting a pregnant woman in danger.
“You shouldn’t be smoking in your seat like that. People do it all the time and guess what? They’re Ahs [a**holes] just like you. Double YTA [You’re the a**hole] for doing it next to a pregnant woman,” someone wrote.
“Imagine sharing your cancer puffs with a non-consenting pregnant woman and asking if you’re an AH?” another mockingly said.
A third explained: “YTA many times over. For smoking indoors, for smoking in a crowd none of whom consented to your gross smoke, for exposing the woman to the smoke and the weed (x2 for the unborn baby) and for having the gall to suggest THEY should leave when YOU are the one breaking the rules.
“It’s not even just ‘preference’ or whatever, I have very severe asthma and secondhand smoke of any kind could close up my airways and kill me. I’ve been hospitalized multiple times by selfish people like you. You aren’t more important.”
