A young woman has spoken out and recalled the terrifying moment her partner was left unable to speak during their wedding.
Brandy from Richmond, Kentucky, was left in tears when her husband began stumbling and slurring his words after his drink was spiked with large amounts of Adderall by one of the pair’s wedding guests.
Posting the distressing moment on TikTok, the bride revealed she wanted to raise awareness of the potentially deadly consequences of spiking people’s drinks as she claimed someone did it to her husband.
In the video, the groom appeared confused and emotional as he stumbled around and struggled to form proper sentences after downing the drug that someone presumably put in his drink so that he would “party harder and longer.”
“Sharing his emotional story of having his drink spiked with crushed Adderall to bring awareness to the fatal consequences,” Brandy explained in her viral clip.
“His heart was racing, his brain was moving faster than he could form words. He tried saying his vows to me but was unable to think. His emotions were heightened!”
The young lady added: “Many people intentionally combined alcohol and Adderall in order to party harder and longer. So they spike others’ drink thinking they will be hype all night with them.”
Brandy also confirmed that she knows what her husband was dealing with because they had him drug tested. She also revealed the venue helped them with the investigation.
While Adderall is commonly used to treat ADHD by increasing users’ ability to focus and pay attention to tasks at hand, the drug can be dangerous when used together with alcohol, a depressant.
“This does not mean that the two substances cancel each other out. Instead, they compete with each other in your body. This effect can cause serious problems,” Healthline confirmed.
