A man left social media users in hysterics after revealing how his brother accidentally ruined his mother’s expensive wallpaper.
As the young man revealed in his viral post, his thoughtful brother bought a series of presents for his family for Christmas. What he forgot to get while at the store, however, was wrapping paper.
When it was time to wrap the gifts and lay them under the Christmas tree, the man looked around the house for something decent enough to wrap the presents into.
That’s when he came across his mother’s expensive wallpaper – which comes at the price of $80 per roll – and mistook it for gift wrapping paper.
“My brother used, as wrapping paper, the wallpaper that Mum had bought to redecorate rooms. I cannot cope ahahah. First Christmas argument underway!” the man’s brother, Daniel, wrote in his Twitter post.
Since then, the post racked up hundreds of thousands of likes with people calling for an update about the mother’s reaction to seeing her wallpaper getting wasted on Christmas gifts.
“Let us know when the funeral is,” one person joked.
“Probably my favorite part of social media. Making direct and personal connections that spread a little bit of humanity and love,” another said.
A third pondered: “Wallpaper feels 100% different then wrapping paper, how do you confuse them?”
After the post went viral, an alleged worker of the company that makes the wallpaper also spoke out and suggested they might be able to get a free replacement for the mother in question.
“I work for Graham and Brown, who make the wallpaper your Mum loves,” the worker responded.
“As it’s the season of goodwill, and peace to all, I’m sure I can arrange a free replacement roll. So no need to argue! DM me and we’ll get a roll to you in the new year.”
