The 62-year-old actor was initially diagnosed with the condition at only 29 years old but he continued to work and kept his struggles for seven years.

In an interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, Fox opened up about his struggles and admitted that he does not think he will reach 80.

“I mean, I’m not gonna lie. It’s getting hard … it’s getting tougher. Every day it’s tougher. But that’s the way it is. I mean, you know, who do I see about that?” Fox expressed.

The actor recalled the fear and shock that came with the diagnosis. During that time, he was enjoying the successes of the sitcom Family Ties and Back to the Future franchise but he did not let the condition pull him down.

Fox continued to appear both in small and big screens but his condition worsened in 2018 when he underwent spinal surgery to remove a tumor. After the procedure, he has faced more challenges, including having to relearn how to walk.

“It messed up my walking … and then, started to break stuff. Broke this arm, and I broke this arm, I broke this elbow, I broke my face. I broke my hand,” Fox told CBS.

He also explained the consequences people with the condition experience, highlighting the danger of falls and other complications.
