A mother has sparked a debate on social media after she revealed that she makes her son sleep in his school uniform to reduce the time to get him ready every morning.
Content creator Ms. Rachel has sparked mixed reactions when she took to TikTok and told her 3.5 million followers: “I dress my little boy for school at night.
“We put on a nice new shirt, sweatpants, super comfy – great for jammies – and then when he wakes up, we just throw on sneakers.”
Ms. Rachel explained that she will soon teach her son that he needs to wake up earlier to get ready for school.
“That will be a very good thing to teach, but I can’t do that right now, and that’s OK,” she expressed.
She then concluded her video: “I’m doing my best and so are you, and I love you.”
Her video has gained over nine million views and has received more than 18,000 comments but people can’t decide whether it was a good idea or not.
One parent said: “But then it’s all creased and sweaty. Takes 5 mins to get them dressed.”
Another wrote: “So he don’t bathe? Where I’m from our kids bathe morning and night.”
A third commented: “NA Ms Rachel you wrong for this…a nice bath wakes you up.”
Someone else added: “It’s okay, you do whatever you want, you’re raising millions of kids.”
Viewers asked whether her son may get sweaty in his uniform while sleeping, to which Ms. Rachel responded: “To answer the questions: he bathes at night, he doesn’t get sweaty at night, if he did, we’d grab new clothes. Ps there’s been no issues with wrinkly clothes.”
