A mother who was struggling on benefits suddenly became a millionaire after scooping more than $600,000 twice in just a matter of days.
Anita Campbell had been on Universal Credit because of her health condition when she won two times while playing an online bingo.
“It’s still a bit of a dream. I’m over the moon. I still can’t believe it. I thought straightaway, I can help my kids with this money,” she said.
The mother-of-four from Seaham, County Durham said of her time on Universal Credit: “It’s been more than a year and it has been very hard.”
Anita said that she lost weight as she couldn’t eat properly, which had a negative effect on her diabetes.
After joining an online bingo game, she won £597,000 ($760,000) then bagged another £522,000 ($664,000).
“I just couldn’t believe that I’d won again,” she expressed.
Anita and her children moved into their new home and paid off debts from her mother’s funeral.
This comes after another woman won ‘the biggest prize of all’ in a different way after delivering her baby in a bingo hall.
Waitress Tammy Hall shared how she felt some contractions on October 29 but her midwife told her to ‘carry one’ because the birth was not imminent.
The next night, she and her family went to a local Club 3000 Bingo club where she suddenly got sick.
Only 30 minutes later, Tammy gave birth to her baby boy in the back of an ambulance that was parked outside the bingo hall.
“It came on that fast that I didn’t expect it myself. The staff at Club 3000 Bingo in Blackpool were incredible and so calm and caring,” Tammy said.
