A young mother has come under fire after revealing she allowed her 9-year-old daughter to pierce her nose.
28-year-old Meagan Black from Illinois has sparked a heated social media debate as she insisted she wanted to let her child, Bella, express herself by getting pierced and wearing a gold hoop in her nose.
The mother also hit back at her critics who dubbed her a “bad mother” and insisted she “must be on drugs” to allow such a young child to get her nose pierced.
In her viral clips, Meagan explained that she allowed Bella to get a nose piercing because it was “all she wanted” and because the girl “doesn’t like earrings.”
She added that she did nothing wrong because it was legal for minors in the state of Illinois to get piercings regardless of their age as long as they have parental consent.
Bella also spoke out herself to confirm that she really wanted the nose piercing after some viewers accused her mother of forcing the piercing on her daughter.
Meagan’s response comes shortly after hundreds of furious viewers lashed out at the mother and told her she wasn’t doing what was best for her daughter.
“I got a nose piercing myself but nine is a bit too early because the nose hasn’t fully grown yet,” someone said.
“Only a bad mother would allow something like this,” another raged.
A third wrote: “She is way too young to have a nose piercing!”
Some viewers, however, also rushed to the mom’s aid saying it was the girl’s proposal and decision to get her nose pierced.
“I think it’s literally so cute. It’s like self expression,” someone said.
“I don’t think she’s a bad mom who cares she can do what she wants with her daughter it’s not our business,” another argued.
