A mother has sparked a divisive debate as she revealed she makes her children eat with their hands to save time.
28-year-old Rebecca Cubberly from Telford, England, has been branded as “lazy” after sharing a “life hack” that allegedly helps her save time and energy by avoiding the washing of dirty dishes.
The young mother explained that her family of four ditched all cutlery to eat with hands instead. They also replaced plates with aluminum foil.
After the family is done dining, they simply wash their hands and throw away the aluminum foil – something that the mother believes helps her save a lot of time and energy.
“We like picky meals and this way is more fun and the clean up afterward was great, I had a knife and a chopping board to clean,” Rebecca explained.
She also revealed that she cooks almost all of her dishes in an air fryer using aluminum foil to avoid being forced to wash the device after use.
“I normally spend about half an hour cleaning up after a meal like that and it’s a long time to spend cooking and cleaning after a long day,” Rebecca added.
“It was that easy I told my husband to do bath time and I’d tidy up. I thought, ‘There is no washing up, so I’ll do it tonight and he can have the difficult job of doing bath time.’
“We’ll 100 per cent be doing it again, we’ll be trying it with lots of different things like pizza and ploughman’s or when we have a picky tea or when I’m just not in the mood to wash up.”
After the mom’s idea went viral on Facebook, viewers were left divided in opinion by many saying her hack was genius and brilliant.
Others, however, argued that this method produced too much waste and that it would be too expensive in the long term due to the price of aluminum foil.
