A bride was left heartbroken after her husband’s family tried to ruin their wedding and sabotage their honeymoon.
In a post on Reddit, the poster explained that the husband comes from an extremely rich family and that his mom wanted him to marry someone wealthy.
His family then believed that the bride just wanted him for money so they took matters into their own hands by trying to ruin the couple’s special day.
The Reddit user wrote: “This poor girl was hated by her mother-in-law, as well as sister-in-law and brother-in-law, since the beginning.
“They threatened her repeatedly, made multiple social media accounts to harass her, and when confronted by the husband, they denied everything. The brother-in-law offered her a blank check to leave her husband and the family for good.”
The poster revealed that when the couple announced their engagement, the man’s family was so furious that his mother faked a heart attack in an attempt to cancel their wedding.
The mother-in-law also blamed the bride for her condition and demanded she ‘cover all of her medical costs.’
The husband’s family did not attend the couple’s wedding but they allegedly ‘hired someone to throw red paint on the bride’s dress’ while she was walking down the aisle.
“Three men ran up to her, two with cans of paint and another recording, and covered her dress in red. The photos are of the aftermath. At first, guests thought the red paint might be blood. I can’t even imagine what that must’ve felt like,” the Reddit user continued.
The bride went home and changed into a gold gown while everyone waited for her to return for the ceremony.
But that’s not all. The man’s family called the police and said that there were illegal substances at the wedding.
“The police arrived and all of the guests present were searched. The groom was close to being taken away in handcuffs. There is suspicion that the brother-in-law bribed the police, but thankfully in the end that didn’t happen. After that, the wedding went on without issues,” the poster added.
After the wedding, the mother-in-law, brother-in-law and sister-in-law tried to steal the groom’s passport and visa and even ‘bribed the travel agency to ruin the trip.’
Reddit users were shocked by the family’s actions, with one person commenting: “Wow! This poor couple needs to move away! Far, far away!”
Another said: “The poor bride and groom. I hope they take all this serious and move or get protection. Seems like the groom’s family’s behaviors are escalating and the next attacks may involve more violence.”
