Pamela Anderson has revealed that the only man who treated her with ‘utter respect’ was the late Hugh Hefner.
The 55-year-old actress has been promoting her new projects – a Netflix documentary titled Pamela: A Love Story and a memoir titled Love, Pamela.
The documentary is described as “an intimate and humanizing portrait of one of the world’s most famous blonde bombshells.”
It follows the trajectory of the Baywatch star’s career and life “from small-town girl to international s*x symbol, actress, activist, and doting mother.”
Anderson will share further details about her marriage to Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
Last year’s miniseries, Pam and Tommy, starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan, centered on Anderson and Lee’s s*x tape leak and how it negatively affected their careers and lives.
After her divorce from Lee, Anderson married four times but she has now revealed that the only man who treated her with utter respect was the late founder and editor-in-chief of Playboy.
In an interview with The Times newspaper, Anderson said that she wanted to be a librarian but life had different plans for her.
“I was painfully shy and I hated that feeling,” she said of why she joined the Playboy Mansion. “That’s why I did it. I just didn’t want that feeling anymore.”
Her experience with Playboy made her feel liberated.
“Doing that first photoshoot gave me this little kind of portal on what it felt like to be a sensual woman. My s*xuality was mine. I took my power back,” she added.
As she shared details about her past marriages, she was asked whether anyone had ever treated her with ‘complete and utter respect.’
Anderson replied: “Hugh Hefner.”
Her statement may have leave many people shocked as Hefner, who died in 2021 at the age of 91, has been accused of explo*ting women at the Playboy Mansion.
