A plane passenger sparked a debate after blaming a child for ruining her white socks on a long-haul flight.
The young woman in question took the internet by surprise as she complained about her socks getting drawn on by a child while she was sleeping on her Tui flight.
In the clip, the woman’s white sock is seen covered in pink and purple scribbles. And while the passenger may have shared the video on social media in search of sympathy, she was quickly blasted by fellow travelers who said she was the one to blame for putting her feet in the gap between the cabin and the seat in front of her.
The video has since been shared by travel blogger Julie Valentine from where it’s made its way to the Instagram page called Passenger Shaming.
While some viewers condemned the child and their parents for allowing the “nasty act towards stranger” unfold, most people sided with the kid and said the woman was in the wrong.
“That’s what you get for putting your dirty feet where they don’t belong! Not everyone wants to smell your sweaty socks, you know,” someone wrote.
“Keep your socks inside of your shoes. This is public transportation, not your personal spa day,” another shared.
A third suggested: “I understand you want to be comfortable on a plane but so do other passengers.”
Another fumed: “Only yourself to blame. If your feet are somewhere they can be drawn on then they are in the wrong place.”
The question remains – Whose side are you on?
