A radio host mocked Machine Gun Kelly after the rapper announced that he was changing his stage name.
During the Bad Things hitmaker’s recent concert, some fans were seen holding up a sign telling the musician to change his name.
MGK noticed the sign and asked the fans: “I have no idea what that sign means.”
The fans then explained that they wanted the rapper to remove the ‘machine gun’ from his stage name to not ‘glorify machine guns.’
He did not say anything anymore during the concert but when he appeared at the GQ Men of the Year party, he told reporters and photographers to just call him ‘Machine.’
The Bloody Valentine singer said on the red carpet: “Instead of Machine Gun can you just call me Machine from now on? Just Machine.”
The rapper also took to Instagram and shared some photos alongside the caption: “Machine.”
One fan then asked in the comments section: “Should we call you machine now?”
Another said: “Ladies and gentlemen, MACHINE.”
A third said: “Machine is the move.”
Radio host Kyle Sandilands, 52, has now mocked the Emo Girl rapper and said on the Kyle and Jackie O Show: “That’ll fix everything, Machine Gun Kelly changes his name and the weapons problems in America will all dissolve… what an idiot.”
Sandilands continued: “You look at the guy and he’s not a machine. You are not a machine bro.”
He also suggested that the rapper should’ve called himself ‘Kelly.’
Co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then disagreed and described the suggestion as ‘lame,’ to which Sandilands responded: “What’s lame is to be called Machine, that’s ridiculous.”
