Billionaire Rupert Murdoch allegedly ended his marriage to former supermodel Jerry Hall with a brutal email after being together for six years.
They reportedly tied the knot in March 2016, only days before the media mogul celebrated his 85th birthday.
But they have decided to end their marriage in June 2022, with Hall citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’
Journalist Gabriel Sharman has now claimed that the billionaire ended his marriage by sending a brutal 33-word email to Hall.
It read, according to Vanity Fair: “Jerry, sadly I’ve decided to call an end to our marriage. We have certainly had some good times, but I have much to do … My New York lawyer will be contacting yours immediately.”
If true, this may be one of the brutal ways to end a marriage.
Sharman also claimed that one of the terms of their separation was that the former model could not share story ideas to the writers of the HBO series Succession, which according to Metro “has long been rumored to be inspired by the Murdoch family.”
In addition, Hall was given only one month to leave the Bel Air estate and was also made to show receipts for things she said belonged to her.
Their divorce marked the billionaire’s fourth to be dissolved but it was Hall’s first marriage.
Her friends said she was ‘blindsided’ by the split as they had ‘never fought.’
Last month, Murdoch announced that he is engaged with Ann Lesley Smith only seven months after they first met.
But it is now believed that their wedding is off.
