Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore has revealed that he is set to welcome his first baby at the age of 52.
During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the actor shared the joyous news that on the third death anniversary of his mother, he is ‘about to be a daddy’ next month.
“On February 8th I’m gonna make one of her dreams come true because in real life Shemar Moore is about to be a daddy,” Shemar said.
The singer congratulated Shemar and told him that his late mother was ‘smiling down on him from heaven.’
The S.W.A.T. star then said: “I’m so excited. I’m sorry she can’t be here. I was worried for a while that it was a ‘that ship has sailed,’ kind of thing but God had my back and things lined up.”
While he feels that his life is already ‘grand,’ the 52-year-old actor said that becoming a father will be the best experience.
“But I know whenever God does call my name, once I get this experience, I’ll be able to go to heaven whole,” he added.
After the Jennifer Hudson Show teaser was shared online, the actor took to Instagram and posted a gender reveal video that featured his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon.
In the video, the excited couple gathered with their loved ones to know the gender of the new member of the family.
Jesiree, who is a mother to son Kaiden, 16, and daughter Charli, 5, from a previous relationship, said: “If we have a boy, we’re one and done.”
Shemar also said in the clip: “It’s either going to be Legend, little homie, or it’s going to be Frankie, little baby girl, and I’m about to be a father come February 8, 2023.”
The heartwarming video then showed a helicopter flying above and releasing pink smoke, announcing that they are expecting a baby girl.
