The text row between the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales over the infamous bridesmaid dress fitting has been revealed.

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, has claimed in his memoir that his niece Princess Charlotte ‘cried when she tried it on at home.’

He then insisted that the row was driven by Kate who seemed to be irritated when it had taken Meghan some time to address the issue.

Harry claims that the disagreement between his wife and sister-in-law was exacerbated by then Duchess of Cambridge’s unwillingness to see Meghan’s tailor at Kensington Palace despite the Suits star’s row with her dad, Thomas Markle.

The Duke claimed that his wife received a text message from Kate four days before their 2018 Royal Wedding, saying there was a problem with the bridesmaids’ dresses.

He said that they were ‘French couture’ and had been hand-sewn without a fitting, so it ‘was not a big shock’ that they might not fit properly.

“Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away. Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by,” Harry wrote, adding that Meghan told Kate that the tailor’s name was Ajay.

“This wasn’t sufficient,” Harry expressed and said that his sister-in-law complained: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home.”

Meghan replied: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”

But according to Harry, Kate said: “No, all the dresses need to be remade.”

The Duke explained that Meghan asked if Kate was aware of what was happening with her father. “Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!” Harry wrote.

He also claims that Kate had ‘problems with the way Meg was planning her wedding. Something about a party for the page boys? It went back and forth.’

Harry also said that his wife replied: “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day,” to which Kate responded: “Fine.”

He said that he was ‘horrified’ to see Meghan upset but he clarified that ‘Kate hadn’t meant any harm.’

His point was proved when his sister-in-law came around the next day with flowers and a card to apologize.

It was first claimed that Meghan made Kate cry, so the Sussexes went to war with the press office and demanded they correct their facts. But when officials refused because it would spark more questions, Harry and Meghan started to believe that the palace was unwilling to protect them.
