Sharing his story on Reddit, the man explained that they were childhood sweethearts and their marriage had been ‘pretty great’ until he discovered his wife’s secret.

“Her old college roommate commented that it was crazy that we met in high school, had a few wild years in college, then ended up together,” he wrote.

The husband said that he tried to play along with the conversation and told their friends that he didn’t know if his wife was as crazy as he was.

“The roommate started to tell a story, but my wife cut her off and said she was uncomfortable about it. I sensed something was up, so I said that we actually started dating in high school and were together for my wife’s entire time at college,” he said.

His wife’s friends then became quiet and things became ‘awkward.’ One of their pals then pulled him away and advised him to have an ‘honest conversation’ with his wife about her college years.

On their way home, he asked her about the college years and she said that it wasn’t important.

“I pressed for more details and she said it was at least 10 different men including at least 3 guys she introduced to me as friends when I came to visit on weekends and 1 guy she was still in contact with,” he said.

The next day, the husband started the paperwork for divorce but most of their relatives think he should throw away their marriage over a mistake that happened in college.

“I’ve stood by my belief that cheating on me with multiple men for years is unacceptable no matter when it happened and the fact that she continued to maintain relationships with these guys right in front of me was an unacceptable amount of disrespect,” he added.

Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts on the matter, with one person saying: “Yeah. I could prob get over some ons in college. But the level of disrespect? Even up to this day? I’d divorce her too.”

Another said: “It was 20 years ago but that amount of savageness would be hard to look past, especially when she still associates with the other men. That is just a continual slap.”

A third added: “Ouch bro, I feel the pain. It’s gonna take a lot to get over that level of betrayal.”
