A drunk Travis Kelce had to be carried by his fellow teammates on stage during the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City following their historic win over San Francisco 49ers.
The Chiefs tight end led a drunken rendition of Garth Brooks’ 1990 county hit ‘Friends In Low Places’ after receiving the mic in front of the crowd.
While performing, he changed one of the lyrics and sang: “Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots, and ruined the Niners’ affair.”
But it seemed a day of partying took a toll on the 34-year-old as he found it difficult to speak and finish the song.
His teammates Chris Jones and Patrick Maholmes even held him up to prevent him from falling over the stage.
The Chiefs became the first team to retain the Super Bowl victory for 19 years. The team returned to Kansas City for the parade where they continued their celebrations and thousands of fans had lined the streets to welcome them after their historic victory.
But only moments after they left the stage, gunshots rang out and terrified fans ran for their lives.
According to reports, 29 people have been injured and nine of them are children. Two gunmen have also been detained.
In a press conference, Police Chief Stacey Graves said: “We are working to determine if one of the three are the one that was in that video, where fans assisted police.”
Graves also said that the weapons were recovered after the incident.
“We have recovered firearms. I don’t have a number for you or a caliber,” she added.
