A woman recalled the time she gave birth on the toilet after unknowingly falling pregnant while on birth control.
34-year-old Marla McEntire from Georgia was 40 weeks pregnant when she rushed to the toilet after mistaking labor pain for constipation.
Thinking she needed to relieve herself, the young lady sat on the toilet only for a baby to unexpectedly slip out of her and end up in the water much to her shock.
As Marla revealed, she was on birth control when she fell pregnant. While she admitted to missing one period, she never expected she was pregnant after her pregnancy test came back negative and her period returned.
And so, the 34-year-old continued with her life as usual and unknowingly carried her baby for forty weeks until the little boy decided to come out.
“I got pregnant last May and I never showed, my stomach was squishy, my belly button didn’t pop out, no morning sickness, I never felt a kick – nothing,” Marla explained.
“Around January, I started having some hip pain and some stomach issues so I went to a chiropractor and went to a doctor and no one caught the fact that there was a baby in there.”
Speaking of the unusual birth, she added: “That night I thought I was constipated. I sent my dad to the store to get me laxatives and I went back and forth to the bathroom about five times. And then on the fifth time is when Atlas came.
“So I had just had Atlas in the toilet, I looked down and see that he’s alive and I yell for my dad. My dad comes in there and helps me get the baby out of the toilet because obviously he is still attached at this point and it’s a little hard for me to get him out.”
As Marla admitted, the situation was a lot to process and neither she nor her dad, who helped her get baby Atlas out of the toilet, were immediately aware of what had happened.
After the paramedics arrived at the scene, the baby and the mother were taken to the hospital for a check-up. Fortunately, both were in good condition and are doing fine though Marla is still dealing with some issues surrounding the baby’s biological father.
