A young woman has sparked a fierce debate after breaking into tears while complaining about her 9-5 job saying such a lifestyle was crazy.

Brielle, a proud member of Generation Z, is a college graduate from New Jersey who was in for a big surprise after starting her first proper job shortly after graduating from college.

In her viral TikTok video, the girl complained about her long work days while insisting the 9-5 routine leaves her with no time or energy to do basic chores like cooking and cleaning.

Brielle also said nothing was wrong with the job itself as she took a jab at the 9-5 system calling it “crazy.”

“Nothing to do with my job at all, but just like the 9-5 schedule in general is just crazy,” she said.

“I leave here and get on the train at like 7.30am and I don’t get home until 6.15pm earliest. I don’t have the time to do anything.”

Overcome with emotions, Brielle continued: “I want to shower, eat my dinner and go to sleep. I don’t have the time or energy to cook my dinner either.

“I don’t have energy to work out, like that’s out of the window. I’m so upset. Oh my god. I know I could be working longer, but I get off and it’s literally pitch black, like I don’t have energy.”

After her video went viral, the young lady received plenty of support from like-minded people who are fed up with long work days.

“40 hour work week was designed with a homemaker to take care of house tasks. We need dual incomes now, so that’s not possible. No time for anything,” someone agreed.

“The other generations have gaslit themselves to say this was ok,” another said.

A third suggested: “Gen Z need to collectively move up into management positions and then collectively enforce the four day work week.”

The video, however, also sparked a certain degree of backlash with critics saying she should feel lucky to even have a job.

“Welcome to the real world, it’s time to grow up. No one’s going to pay you for sitting around at home doing nothing,” one person argued.

“The entitled generation. Want it all without making the required effort. Wait until she’s a mother, then she’ll know what hard work is,” another fumed.
