Some people meet potential partners through dating apps and many end up getting married and having beautiful families.
However, not everyone available online has the best interests as there are also predators lurking in the shadows waiting for their next victim.
One woman shared how she immediately canceled her date with a man she met from a dating app after she took the time to Google him.
Shaina Kay Cardwell took to TikTok and issued a warning to other women to do their research first before meeting with anyone they met from a dating app.
The TikToker said that the worst thing could’ve happened if she hadn’t googled him.
“When I was about to go on a Hinge date and decided to Google him and saw he was arrested for aggravated kidnapping,” she said on TikTok.
Her video had gained more than 300,000 viewers and thousands of comments from people who also shared their dating horror stories.
One TikTok user wrote: “I straight up asked a guy what would happen if I googled him and he told me I wouldn’t like it. Actual s*xual assault accusations.”
Another wrote: “My friend googled him after the date – he had an assault charge for killing his ex’s chihuahua and beating her with the dead dog. Google first.”
A third said: “A guy who begged me to date him who I turned down I googled later only to find out he was arrested for attacking a UPS worker at his house.”
Someone else added: “Such important advice. People will benefit from this reminder and although it may be ‘obvious’ to some people it’s always a good idea not to be complacent about these things.”
