Lexy Thornberry is an influencer and former Love Island Australia contestant who came up with a brilliant – and yet disgusting according to some – solution to counter pores clogged with makeup.

According to the young lady, she one night during her vacation got devastated after realizing she had a thick layer of makeup on her face and no face wash to rinse it off properly.

While experimenting with things that could potentially save her from a total mess, Lexy was in for a shock as she discovered that rubbing milk into her skin solved all of her problems.

“I forgot to pack my facewash, [my boyfriend] doesn’t think it’s a big deal but my raccoon eyes say otherwise,” she explained in her viral Instagram story.

Speaking of her idea to give milk a try, the reality TV star added: “It actually worked, I’m speechless.”

Her post quickly went viral with people weighing in on the matter with their own opinions.

“That’s brilliant and definitely good to know for future!” someone said.

“Guys don’t know how hard it can be removing layers of makeup from face! Soap just won’t do it,” one woman added.

Not everyone, however, agreed that pouring milk on the face was the best solution to deal with the problem.

“That’s disgusting I think I’d rather just use water and soap,” someone insisted.

As it happens, the fat content in milk could very well prove useful in removing tough, thick layers of makeup from the skin.

Among other known natural makeup removers are yogurts, lemon, honey, oatmeal, cucumber paste, and various oils including jojoba oil, almond oil, olive oil, and more.
