A 36-year-old woman who over-plucked her brows when there was a trend for having thinner brows has undergone an eyebrow transplant using hairs from her head.
But now, Isabelle Kutxi has to trim her brows every month as they don’t stop growing.
She said that she was desperate to have fluffy and thick brows so she decided to undergo a three-hour procedure.
Isabelle said it was an emotional moment for her when she saw her full brow line. She said that she dreamed of ‘fluffy eyebrows’ for so long.
“The trends changed and then thicker brows were fashionable like Cara Delevigne had. I saw celebrities with bigger eyebrows and wanted that,” she expressed.
But a year after the transplant, she needs to get them trimmed every month but she insists that it is worth to have the brows of her dreams.
“The fun fact is that the hair is still growing like real [head] hair. They don’t stop growing like eyebrows, they can grow really long if you don’t cut them.
“Every month I go to have my eyebrows cut like hair by a friend, because I don’t want to do something bad.”
Isabelle said that she learned about eyebrow transplants after watching a US cosmetic surgery show.
“I was watching a TV show about plastic surgery in the United States, I’d never heard about it [before that]. I started to do a lot of research on the internet about how much it cost, it was super expensive.
“I decided to go to Poland because I’m Polish and everything in Poland is cheaper and well done.”
Isabelle then flew to Poland and underwent the $1,200 procedure.
“When I looked in the mirror and saw my new eyebrows for the first time I cried, I was so emotional because I’d waited for them for so long.”
Isabelle’s confidence has skyrocketed, thanks to her new eyebrows.
“I look younger, it’s also made my make-up routine quicker in the morning, it just changed my life,” she added.
