Princess Diana’s heartbreaking words were revealed by a royal biographer relating to Prince Harry’s birth and how Prince Charles always wished for a girl after the birth of Prince William.
Diana reportedly spoke about how her ‘marriage went down the drain’ as Charles always wished for a girl. Moreover, she held firmly to the belief of how her son Harry’s birth really affected and disappointed her husband.
While the mere thought of Prince William having a younger sister seems absolutely impossible now, a past interview that took place years ago revealed how Harry’s arrival really disappointed his father Charles who just couldn’t come to terms with his birth.
A meeting scheduled with the family’s royal biographer named Andrew Morton revealed how the Princess of Wales spoke confidently and very openly about the challenges she endured during that point in time.
This includes all of the bittersweet implications relating to her second pregnancy. Therefore, the author opted to include a number of transcripts relating to their unfiltered conversations in her than a newly re-released book called ‘Diana: Her True Story- In Her Own Words.
According to Diana, Prince Harry’s birth was the beginning of a downward spiral in her and Charles’s relationship. “My husband Charles and I were very very close to one another, six weeks before Harry was even born. This was the closest that we had ever been and hence will be,” Diana recalled.
“Then, Harry came into this world, and our marriage just went bang! The entire thing just went down the drain.”
On the other hand, Princess Diana also spoke about how she had known about the baby’s sex as she saw it on the scan beforehand. However, she did not tell Charles as he had always hoped for a baby girl or daughter of his own.
It’s all quite ironic as in the year 2015, Prince Charles also spoke about how he wished his second grandchild would be a girl.
