The Great Horned Owl is one of the most common owls in North America.
They are usually seen deep in the forest but people can also find them in the desert or even behind your house! Like most owls, these beautiful creatures are nocturnal so it is best to check them out at night.
But it was in the middle of the day when an owl was seen hopping amongst the ashes. Ram had lost his home and he couldn’t find a place to rest.
Fortunately, firefighters found Ram. When they found him, he was very obedient and allowed rescuers to wrap him in a jacket.
Ram was taken to the Camarillo Wildlife for recovery and once he’s okay, he will be released to the wild.
Camarillo wrote on Facebook: “Many thanks to the hard-working VCFD handcrew who saved the life of this beautiful great horned owl.
“He was found among the ashes, disoriented and suffering from smoke inhalation and a bad case of flat flies. Thanks to these courageous men, he will make a full recovery and be released back to his territory as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
The amazing story warmed the hearts of many, with one commenting: “Omg I hope it’ll continue to get better. Poor little guy! We love owls so much we had an owl themed wedding. Thank you for saving him/her!!! Thank you for all your hard work!”
Another said: “Good job guys! You’re angels disguised as heroes.”
But some people pointed out the owl’s angry expression. One wrote: “Owl looks angry af.”
Another commented: “That owl already looks sick of everyone’s s***.”
A third added: “That is one grumpy looking burrito!”
But many people also hit back and said it wasn’t funny as the poor creature is traumatized. Its home was wrecked and it could’ve died if the firefighters didn’t arrive.
Praying for your speedy recovery, Ram!
