A woman named Hailee Graham adopted a dog Potate who is also known as Tate and she was extremely excited to share her new best friend’s pictures.
”I’m in puppy love, and I don’t care who knows it!” she wrote.
Before being adopted, Tate used to live on the streets as a stray. Hailee’s neighbor also brought a dog at the same time who was about the same age. His name is Vernon.
The two dogs, Vernon and Tate instantly felt a deep connection.
”They love being together!” Hailee said. “I don’t know if they are actually in love, but I like to think so.”
”I walk outside and catch them digging a tunnel to each other. We couldn’t get them to stop. We couldn’t keep them apart. They would just keep digging holes to each other,” Hailee said.
Hailee thought of planning play dates and she came up with a better idea. She decided to put a door in the fence so the dogs can have fun together without a fence in their way.
”I thought, ‘Why not just put a door in the fence, so they can play whenever, and their humans don’t have to get involved?” she said.
Her neighbor loved Hailee’s idea and Hailee’s dad built a doggy door in their backyard fence. Now the dogs can play together whenever they want and all thanks to their new door.
Hailee says that the fence idea might not work for everyone but she believes that other like-minded pet owners might give a thought to this idea.
She said: ”I hope that it encourages people to be more friendly with their neighbors, and encourage a sense of community. It has worked out well for us so far.”
