A video of an unfortunate couple being left behind by their cruise ship has surfaced the internet recently. It was on 15th February, the sixth of a seven-day cruise, when Symphony of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship was calling on Nassau, Bahamas. This incident occurred at the ship’s last port before returning to Miami.
As seen by the video taker who was standing on the deck of Norwegian Bliss which is situated nearby, the call for boarding the ship came at 3.30pm, and about 45 minutes later, the workers started removing the gangway and closing the hatches.
However, about 5 minutes after the call, a clueless couple came running carrying several bags from shopping on the shore. In the beginning, they were panicky and waving at the ship, which was quickly turned into grief as the ship’s propellers started.
Other passengers on the ship stared complacently from the balcony as the ship began to pull away from the port, and the stranded couple.
The couple was then talking to the dockworkers present there regarding the problem. However, without any luck, they gave up and gloomily walked down the pier, looking across the water at the ship.
Now the fate of the couple returning home was dependent on why they were late. If they were delayed because of the tour booked and planned via the cruise line, they would be immediately assisted.
However, if it happened because of an independent excursion around the shore, they had to find their way back home on their own. Plane tickets from Nassau to Miami cost about $180 for each passenger.
