The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, otherwise known as North Korea, seems to be touting another propaganda cliche by randomly throwing news with no ways for the outside world to actually verify the sources of their claims. While the rest of the world is falling apart, North Korea has officially claimed zero infections to the COVID -19 pandemic. And now, amongst many other contenders in the race, it has announced it will start a novel approach to acquire vaccines for the deadly virus. According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the North Korea’s State Commission of Science and Technology is on their way to establishing the human testing of the disease now.
Considering the fact that North Korea obviously lacks the funds and the necessary professionals to really come up with a vaccine, the reasons for their sudden announcement into the pharmaceutical race is being analyzed in ways that has been typical of the state media policy: propaganda and internal morale boost.
