When the rescuers from the organization showed up at the scene, they found cops gathered around a severely maltreated dog, later named Frann.
Frann was lying vulnerably on the ground, not able to move, seemingly in pain due to her injuries.]
Pacing up and down anxiously near Frann was another dog, later named Fanny.
She kept a close eye on her friend and wouldn’t leave her side.
The rescuers covered Frann with a blanket, as Fanny looked on, trying to understand what is happening.
They carried Frann to their van and Fanny followed behind them worriedly.
The rescuers speculated that it was Fanny’s companionship that kept Frann alive all this time following the ill-treatment.
Frann was rushed to the vet where she underwent several diagnoses. It was later found out through x-ray scans that her spine was afflicted with numerous fractures.
Apparently, she was hit by a hard object several times by a cruel human.
Fanny was by her side during her treatment and refused to leave. She watched anxiously as the vets treated Frann.
Although the surgery was successful, Frann could not walk for weeks.
The vets feared that she might never walk again. But, the resilient canine never gave up. All thanks to the rescue team, and of course, Fanny, Frann took her first step post-surgery by the end of the year after going through sessions of demanding physical therapy.
Throughout her recovery, Fanny never left her side. Regrettably, both the canines contracted ‘canine distemper’, which affected their several body systems including their respiratory tracts.
Frann pulled through, but unfortunately, Fanny lost the battle and died shortly after Frann learned to walk again.
It was a beautiful friendship they had and surely, Frann will never forget Fanny for being the friend she needed.
