A mother who was charged with abandoning her child has spoken out in tears and claimed that her 9-year-old adopted daughter is actually a 22-year-old sociopath with dwarfism who tried to murder her.
Just like what happened in the 2009 horror movie called ‘Orphan,’ 45-year-old Kristine Barnett and her ex-husband, 43-year-old Michael Barnett, allegedly had their lives turned around for the worse after adopting a seemingly innocent girl, Natalia Grace, from Ukraine.
After living together for some time, the couple dumped the ‘child’ in Lafayette, Indiana, before moving to Canada and breaking all contact with her.
Following their act, the adoptive parents were arrested and charged with felony child neglect and child abandonment.
In their defense, however, the mother, who is a parenting author, claimed that the ‘9-year-old’ girl is actually an adult con artist with dwarfism who attempted to kill them on multiple occasions, causing the parents to run for their lives because they were afraid no one would believe them.
According to Kristine, she and her family suffered terror at the hands of Natalia, whereas the girl would pour bleach in their drinks, threaten to murder them in their sleep, and push Kristine towards an electric fence.
“The movie ‘Orphan’ is exactly what happened,” the upset mother revealed in an interview with DailyMailTV.
“She would make statements and draw pictures saying she wanted to kill family members, roll them up in a blanket and put them in the backyard.
“She was standing over people in the middle of the night. You couldn’t go to sleep. We had to hide all the sharp objects.
“I saw her putting chemicals, bleach, Windex something like that, in my coffee and I asked her, what are you doing? She said, ‘I am trying to poison you.’
“The media is painting me to be a child abuser but there is no child here. Natalia was a woman. She had periods. She had adult teeth. She never grew a single inch, which would happen even with a child with dwarfism. The doctors all confirmed she was suffering a severe psychological illness only diagnosed in adults.
“She was jumping out of moving cars. She was smearing blood on mirrors. She was doing things you could never imagine a little child doing.”
Supporting parents’ claims that they would never abuse, neglect, or abandon a child is the fact that they were previously dubbed as exemplary parents for raising Jake Barnett who is also known as the genius boy.
In addition, they have always wanted to expand their family but had to resort to adoption due to medical complications.
After adopting Natalia, Kristine and Michael showered her with love and took her to various destinations such as Disney World.
Soon enough, however, they knew something was fishy not only because of the girl’s disturbing behavior but also because of her sophisticated vocabulary and actions that you only see in adults.
In addition, Kristine was shocked after seeing the girl naked for the first time and realizing that she was full of pubic hair.
“I have been cooperative the whole time. I have been truthful with people the whole time. I am being charged by the state of Indiana for crimes against a child when the state of Indiana has determined multiple times that Natalia was an adult,” Kristine added.
“From day one this was a mission of love. But when you bring a child into your home, you expect them to be a child. To be accused of this is unconscionable to me. It’s just horrifying.”
