It could be said that the couple suffered from a chronic case of compulsive hoarding disorder.point 79 | It is pattern of behaviour in people very similar to what the Tallents exhibits which makes them susceptible to excessive acquisition and an inability or the lack of the will to do away with very large quantity of objects that covers their entire living areas of the home and results in a considerable amount of distress and impairment to the person.point 369 |

Researchers recently came up with the study of people with the hoarding disorder as a form of mental disorder.point 92 | It is yet to be seen whether it is an isolated condition in people or just another symptom of the Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).point 203 |

In addition to the child neglect, the filthy home kept the officers occupied with new and incredible discoveries of utter disgust. Besides the decayed trash, the couple also ‘stored’ in their refrigerator two dead dogs and turtles each, five dead parakeets and a dead rabbit.

It would be an understatement to say the officers never beheld anything like that before because not many can relate to this event in the internet community. The extent of disgust of the officers was justified because three children were made to live in the pile of filth. With the kid’s rescue, a significant number of animals (10 in total) were also saved from the mad conditions; even nature wouldn’t subject them.

The rescued animals were said to be ‘very thin’ and afflicted with fleas and parasites. They included a python, a lizard, three cats and four dogs.

On that Saturday the police invaded the house, the poor little children were out, but the parents were taken into custody at the County jail. The oldest of the three children was five years old while the other two are a two-year-old twin.

The Tallents was slammed with charges of child and animal neglect, the latter charge recommended by the Director of the Humane Educational Society Department, in Chattanooga, Bob Citrullo.
The officers of the County Police department expressed their disgust at such manner of life led by the Tallents, a sergeant reaffirmed that he had never heard of nor seen such in his life. The twins and the older one all lived in the filthy home sullied with feces, garbage, and wastes.

It was reported that two of the boys were out on the day while the last one was found locked up and seated in one of the rooms in the midst of the trash.

I can only imagine what you feel about the Tallents and their lifestyle.
