Germany’s parliament just passed a law that will force parents to pay fines up to €2,500 if they don’t vaccinate their kids.
Measles vaccinations will be made compulsory for children starting in 2020. Parents must prove their kids have been immunized before they can go to schools or nurseries.
Visits to community centers, holiday camps, and medical facilities will also require proof of vaccination.
Health Minister Jens Spahn said described the new law as ‘child protection,’ saying: “A measles infection is an unnecessary threat in 2019.”
For vaccinations to be completely effective, 95 percent coverage is required to have ‘herd immunity,’ which means infections and viruses that are circulating won’t be able to find a ‘host’ do they die out.
93 percent of children in Germany have received measles jab while 86 percent children received both jabs in England.
One internet user commented: “Look at Bangladesh. 97% coverage, but no effect on mortality. There is no evidence that vaccines save lives.”
Another wrote: “so if you can pay this fee they can’t bug you any more right? or is it yearly. Only rich kids survive?”
A third said: “Should be more. Start injecting illegal immigrants too. They carry in so many bacteria. Viruses.”
Someone else added: “Shame such punitive measures need to be implemented. We’re fortunate to have science provide the necessary vaccinations to prevent the outbreak of deadly diseases. Yet how many times are children denied access to treatments that keep them and the wider community safe from these easily preventable diseases?”
