A father posted a photo of her daughter wearing an illustrated bow on his Reddit account.
Steve Rold, a father from Denmark, was told by the staffs at the daycare where his daughter went that she should be dressed ‘more like a girl.’
The next day his wife dressed her child and sent her to the daycare with a drawn bow on a post-it note. This was photographed and posted by the father on the social media. Through this, they were given high praise and support from the people. There were flowing comments from a lot of Reddit users, praising the parents for their reaction to the gender biased comment of the staff at the daycare.
This was a substantial step that was taken by Steve and his wife against the culture of gender bias and also supported the aspects of gender neutral clothing.
Steve posted the photograph with the caption: ‘How my wife dressed our daughter the day after the teachers at daycare told her we should be dressing her more like a girl.’ The photo went viral, and praises started flowing in from various users.
There was a person who explained that a lot of this is due to human psychology where we even talk to the boy kids in a different manner and the girl kids in a separate way.
Most of the users on Reddit who commented on their photo supported them in the gender-neutral thought process and also praised their way of conveying the message to the world.
Their daughter was also called ‘cute’ in a number of comments. His wife was praised for her witty thinking, and many parents even shared their similar experiences in situations like this. In short, this single post has brought about a wave in the social media about gender neutral clothing.
