Love is a beautiful thing.
But it is strange how some people choose to express their affection. Apparently, in just 19 years, Julie Mannix Von Zemeck was held in a mental asylum. Notably, this beautiful lady was not insane. No! She was a woman of noble character and sound judgment. Actually, the only mistake she committed was getting pregnant. Therefore, since her parents did not want to ruin their reputation; they opted to send her to a mental hospital.
Well, during the summer apprenticeship in Westbury, Julie fell in love with Frank Von Zerneck.point 80 | At just the age of 23, Frank had managed to achieve so much in the entertainment industry.point 154 | Since his parents were also actors, he practically got to work on and off backstage.point 224 |
Therefore his charming attitude and hard work attracted Julie.point 54 | During the training period, their love for each other grew each day immensely.point 120 | And just as the apprenticeship was coming to an end Julie realized she was heavy with child.point 196 | 1
But there was a problem!
His one and only charming prince were already married. Lost in love and out of choices, this charming lady decided to keep his child with the hope that things would work out. Immediately, she returned to her humble abode; her parents could not resist realizing something was amiss with their daughter. On carrying further investigations, they realized their only Julie was pregnant.
Well, in their society getting a child out of wedlock was abominable. It was an unforgivable sin! Her parents could not fathom the idea of raising another man kids. Therefore they consulted with the family doctor who diagnosed Julie with extreme depression. This way they could be able to perform an abortion legally.
Look!
Back in 1963, abortion was prohibited, and the only way one could perform an abortion was being declared a lunatic.
As Julie walked into the dingy, tiny room, she could not help but shed tears.point 63 | This time around it was not tears of joy.point 96 | No! Instead, she cried out of anger and hatred.point 135 | She could not believe her parents had the guts to send her away from the family because she declined abortion.point 226 |
“How humane is it to kill an innocent child, all in the name of preserving your reputation?” Day and night she screamed and yelled, “I am not insane,” but no one was around to save her.point 158 | Apparently, the nurses thought she was mad as well.point 201 |
As days turned into months, she began questioning her sanity.point 52 | Probably, it was out of loneliness and the fact she was surrounded by lunatics.point 118 | 1
To maintain her sobriety, she would always think of her baby girl and the features she would acquire from either her mom or dad. In the silent of the night, she always hoped that one day she would be free and reunited with the love of his life. More so, she wanted to build a family for her little angel. But, was it possible behind this cage?
Well, it was a dream, and her daughter was her only out.
Apparently, it was evident her parents were no longer interested in her as a daughter. All along no one came to visit, or check on her. The only people, who cared, were the rogue doctors who came to seek approval for the abortion process. It was damn sickening! Despite, their constant persuasion, Julie was not moved. She was ready to lose everything for the sake of her child. Every day her answer was a clear, “no!”
Luckily, after staying up locked for 6 months, her baby decided to arrive. But, her parents could not let her stay with the child.
Therefore, she decided to give her up for adoption.
Actually, it was painful seeing her daughter taken away. But, Julie was glad she had decided to keep her alive. Apparently, with her decision, it meant she was free to go home. On arriving, she was greeted by family and friends who were invited for a welcoming party. To her utter disbelief, her parents lied she was from a trip in Africa. Well, home never felt like home anymore.
Eventually, Julie pursued her dreams and moved out. She relocated to New York as an actress.
Surprisingly, during her stay, they meet with Frank. They rekindled their love, and in 1965 they got married. Apparently, after Frank heard of Julie’s calamities, she divorced his wife in pursuit of the love of his life. But, it was all in vain! Apparently, every time she sent a letter to Julie, his plans were thwarted by her parents. Notably, Julie never received any letter.
Consequently, after their nuptials, Julie was disinherited by her parents because she went ahead and married a man who had no approval.
Though, this was the least of her worries. After all, she went through on their watch; Julie felt she did not owe them an explanation or an apology. At, last she had found happiness. Though, there was still one thing missing in their life-Aimee their adorable daughter.
Apparently, after Aimee was given up for adoption, her name was changed to Kathleen Marie Wisler. As fate would have it, her parents passed on. Later, she realized she was adopted. There and then she opted to find her real parents. At least, Kathleen knew her heart would find peace in knowing the truth.
Luckily, she was able to track down Julie and Frank. Instinctively, she wrote them a letter, and in a few days, her real parents called.
Well, it was an emotional reunion!
All the parties involved found themselves crying over the phone. Though, as time went by, they reconnected through Skype and exchanged photos of themselves. After getting acquitted, they decided to meet in person.
Finally, the missing puzzle was solved and just like the fairy tales; Julie, Frank, and Kathleen lived happily ever after.
